As every year on March 17th, we celebrate St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. This festival is a celebration not only of Iralnda but a European festival, so much that is celebrated in tuttto Europe.
There are a lot of information about who was really S. Patrick, you know that was born from a noble family in Scotland and was kidnapped and sold into slavery to a Irish wolfhounds.
After several years he learned Gaelic, on his return to Ireland, became a bishop, began to convert the Irish from pagans to Christians. This action was recognized as so great that soon become a national hero.
died March 17, 461. Around him there are many legends, such as it is said that there are no snakes in Ireland because he was to hunt!
As throughout Europe, even here in Italy we prepare to celebrate St. Patrick in a few pubs with rivers of beer!
