Hello everyone! I inform you that on September 12 at 17.30 there will be the inauguration of the exhibition MADE IN IUAV - The university between research and design project (Tese Arsenale Novissima the North East of Venice - Thetis space).
In the exhibition you will see the video wall that I and 5 other students (Claudio Gasparollo, Giuliana Tammaro, Vincent Ruta, Nicholas Lopresti and Alessandra Vigna) we made this summer under the superb supervision Magrì Massimo and Federica de Rocco. The video will be shown in loop on a panel about size 12x2, 5 m - hard to miss:)

Beloved, later to post on myspace my friend Pauline, I decided to update you on the job I'm doing in this period.

In September, to coincide with the Biennale Architecture will open an exhibition presenting the Bachelor in Industrial Design and Master of Science in Product Design and Visual Communications and Multimedia IUAV University of Venice. Under the supervision of
Massimo Magri and Federica de Rocco, we are preparing a videowall (about 12x2, 5 meters!!) Which will be screened during the exhibition. With me are working Giuliana Tammaro, Claudio Gasparollo, Vincent Ruta, Loprieno Nicholas and Alexandra Vigna. The inauguration should take place Sept. 12, though later I will inform you about the exact date. Of course I'm waiting! Meanwhile

His response to this simple brief is one of the best pieces of graphic design I have seen. I have been bugging Richard for about a year, asking him to find his original portrait. He is still looking.

Instructions:

Write a short text about yourself (300 words min / 500 words max) include interests, likes, dislikes, future plans etc.

Using black ink make a careful print from your thumb. Enlarged your black and white thumb print to approximately the size of your face.

Using a clean sheet of A3 paper, handwrite your text following the contour lines from your thumb print (you can use tracing paper, or thin copy paper)

Final result: You should have a combination of your own words, in your handwriting, in the pattern of your finger print forming a personal self portrait.

Usually skaters are creative people but their style is strongly influenced by the main brands like Etnies, DC, Globe and so on.
My task is to project some products for skaters that let them to express their own style in some original and simple ways (for eg. with a drawing or showing their bruises).
I have called this work skatebooth because I want to give the idea of something original that you can buy at a low price in a place frequented by skaters, like open spaces or rock events. You can also make these things by yourself.




• T-board - design-cancel-redesign the graphic of your T-shirt thanks to the plastic deck sticked on it. The top of the deck is on the shirt's front, the underneath of the deck is on its back.

• Stick Skate Shirt - a piece of transfer print paper where there are some pictures. Cut the pictures and create your own composition. Then iron your graphic on a white T-shirt to personalize it.

• Maskshirt - take a white T-shirt, some drawing pens for cloth and a piece of paper. Create some masks and some shapes. Tear out the shapes and use them too like some masks. Create your own composition and draw it on the white T-shirt with the drawing pens for cloth using the masks.

• T-repair - this is a T-shirt with a lot of pockets where there is the equipment to repair your skateboard. You can easily find them because of the graphic of the shirt. There is a skateboard's shape. All the pockets are placed on the right skateboard's part with the right tool to repair it.

• No roll wheels - 4 wheels that in reality are 4 big octagon screws. If you are not yet a skater and you want to learn to stay on the board, use these wheels: the skateboard will keep still and you won't fall down.

• Skate menu - this is a deck where all the ways to use your skateboard are indicated. There are simple and short sentences that explain the deck's functions. For eg. "go forward" is wrote on the deck's nose, "brake" is wrote on the deck's tail.

• Bruise's safeshow - You know, skaters are proud to have a lot of bruises. In fact they call them their own natural tattoos. But sometimes you'd better wearing some protections. How can you show your fantastic bruises with them? Bruise's safeshow is the answer: they are protections with a lot of bruises printed on them.
